Nat serves as Of Counsel to Lehman & Eilen, LLP, where he represents financial services companies such as broker-dealers and investment advisors on various regulatory and transaction matters, including issues related to entity formation and regulation, as well as transactions such as Regulation D private placements.  His work includes assisting clients in the creation of compliance protocols and procedures, and in drafting various documents, such as written supervisory procedures, formation documents, partnership agreements, expense sharing agreements and distribution agreements.

Nat also has served as a general counsel and chief compliance officer of broker-dealers for over twenty years, successfully managing corporate, securities, regulatory and employment law matters.  Nat’s practice has also included representation of various clients in primary and secondary capital markets transactions. Nat has a strong securitization, structured finance and derivatives background, and has worked on transactions involving Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae, commercial and savings banks, insurance companies, and pension funds, as well as various structures backed by a variety of performing, non-performing, secured and non-secured receivables.

In addition to his legal work, Nat has long been a strong advocate of diversity and inclusion.  He has provided clients, schools and charitable organizations with advice and advocacy on diversity and inclusion issues throughout his career.  Through his affiliation with the National Association of Securities Professionals (NASP), an organization focused on the issues affecting minorities and women working in the financial services industry, he helped to shape diversity and inclusion language (which later became law) for both the Housing and Economic Recovery Act (HERA) of 2008, and the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) of 2008, helping to develop policies based on disclosure as opposed to quotas.  Nat has been a member of the Board of Directors of NASP and the Board of Trustees of the Horace Mann School.  Currently, Nat is the Chair of the Board of Directors of the All Stars Project, Inc., and a member Board of Trustees of the Presbytery of the City of New York.  As a member of these various boards, Mr. Christian has chaired or co-chaired compensation, conflicts of interest, risk management, enrollment and financial aid committees and has served on investment, property management and legislative committees.
